In July 2002, in cooperation with the United States, a snow and ice process observation and sampling location field was established in the 4130 m accumulation area of Glacier No. 1. Continuous observation and sampling began in September of the same year. The sampling frequency was once a week. The surface snow samples were taken from 5cm of the top of the snow pit (including fresh snow and snow after sedimentation), and the whole snow pit was sampled every 10 cm. The sample analysis was completed in the laboratory of Tianshan glacier station. The main anion and anion, pH value, conductivity and dust in each sample were analyzed. Since 2002, more than 4000 samples have been collected and more than 2500 samples have been analyzed. The analysis of other samples is in progress.
