1、 The basin boundary of Heihe River Basin is obtained based on high-precision digital elevation model (DEM) and the hydrological analysis function of GIS. It also refers to remote sensing image, topographic map, ground investigation and previous research results. The surface catchment area of Heihe River basin covers an area of about 255000 km2, starting from the middle section of Qilian Mountains in the south, Gobi Altai Mountains in Mongolia in the north, starting from Mazong mountain in the West and ending at Yabulai mountain in the East. Compared with the traditional Heihe River Basin, Badain Jaran Desert, Guaizi lake, northern Mazong mountain and southern foot of Altai Mountain in Outer Mongolia are added in the new basin.
Conclusion: Nanshi River and Beishi River are the rivers formed by the leakage of the alluvial fan of Shule River, and they form independent hydrological units with Ganhaizi as the tail Lake (water systems of Huahai basin) with Shiyou River, Baiyang River and duanshankou river. The relationship between the hydrological unit and the Heihe River Basin is greater than that between the hydrological unit and the Shule River Basin, and should be regarded as a part of the Heihe River Basin. Considering the current situation of modern water resources utilization, Beishi river has been directly connected with the main stream of Shule River after artificial transformation, which is an important channel for water delivery from Shule River to Ganhaizi River, and has become an important tributary of Shule River in fact. Under the influence of a series of water conservancy projects, the surface hydraulic connection between Shiyou River, Baiyang River and Shule River is far greater than that between Shiyou River and Tanglai river.
2、 River Basin Yellow Committee Amended Boundary
Based on the Heihe River basin boundary revised by the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of water resources in 2005, the revised boundary is obtained by using high-precision digital elevation model (DEM), remote sensing image, 1:100000 topographic map, ground survey and other data. The boundary area of the basin is about 76000 km2. The boundary of the middle section of Qilian Mountain in the upper reaches is extracted strictly according to the ridge line according to the hydrological analysis function of GIS by DEM, and the northern boundary of the lower reaches is divided according to the boundary line according to international conventions.
3、 Boundary of study area in Heihe River Basin
According to the basin boundary of Heihe River Basin, the extended research area is mainly for the demand of model data input.
The above three boundaries provide a unified study area boundary for the Heihe River Basin planning project. It is suggested to use the revised boundary of the Heihe River Basin Yellow River Basin Yellow River Basin as the core research area boundary.
