Three basic hydrological points are set up in the glacier action area of Urumqi River source for routine hydrological and meteorological observation, and meteorological field is set up in houxiakou basic camp, with complete observation items. The hydrological point of Glacier No.1 is located on the river channel about 300m away from Glacier No.1, with an altitude of 3693m and a control area of 3.34km2 (including 1.84km2 for Glacier and 1.50km2 for non glacier). The flow measurement section is rectangular (lmxlm). The whole section is made of mortar rubble. The meteorological field is located on the slope on the left bank. The hydrological point of the empty ice bucket is located at the mouth of the ice bucket adjacent to Glacier No.1, with an altitude of 3804m and a control area of 1.68km2. The flow measurement section is rectangular (lmxl.5m), which is made of mortar block stone. The meteorological field is located on the slope on the right bank. The hydrological point is mainly to observe snow runoff. The general control hydrological point is located at the junction of Daxigou and luobudaogou, with an altitude of 3400m. The hydrological point mainly observed 7 glaciers and snow precipitation runoff around the glacier. The section is made of mortar block stone. A working bridge is set on the section to facilitate flow measurement. The meteorological field is located on the slope on the left bank. All hydrological points are equipped with water gauge and self recording water level meter, and current meter is used for flow measurement. This data set includes the meteorological and hydrological observation data from 1980 to 2002 at the No.1 glacier, the empty ice bucket and the general control station of Tianshan glacier observation station, and the observation data of houxia basic station. Detailed meteorological data are provided for glacier monitoring.
