The map of glaciers and lakes in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and its adjacent areas (1:2 million) has Chinese and English versions. It is a general small-scale map, summarizing large-scale topographic map data. After selection, it focuses on the distribution characteristics of water resources mainly composed of glaciers and lakes. At the same time, it also reflects part of the characteristics of rivers and ecology, and reflects the relationship between topography, mountain range trend, river flow direction, basin, plain distribution, residential area and traffic network of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and its adjacent areas as a whole.

The geographical base map of "glacial lakes map of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and its adjacent areas" (1:2 million) was compiled and published by Xi'an map publishing house with reference to the relevant shading content of "the whole map of China" (1:1.5 million) held by the General Administration of Surveying and mapping of the people's Republic of China and the Institute of geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1976.
"Glacial lake map of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and its adjacent areas", with a scale of 1:2 million, uses reliable scientific and technological achievements and excellent remote sensing information, and uses shading method to represent the landform form for contour lines, cold color represents the high mountain plateau, warm color represents the basin, and green color represents the plain. At the same time, the map and text description are made into electronic version for computer reading.
The mathematical basis and geographical elements of this map basically meet the national requirements.
