This data includes six primary types and 38 secondary types, including woodland, grassland, wetland, cultivated land, artificial surface and others. It can be obtained by combining 1:100000 topographic map of Xinjiang, 1:1 million land use data of Xinjiang, 1:1 million grassland resource data of Xinjiang, 1:1 million woodland resource data of Xinjiang, TM data of Xinjiang in 2005 with 30 meter resolution and land cover data of Xinjiang in 2000 and 2010 It reflects the land cover change in Xinjiang in recent 10 years and provides scientific data support for land use research and national macro decision-making in Xinjiang.

The land cover data of Xinjiang in 2005 was independently completed by Xinjiang Institute of ecology and geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on the 1:1 million land use data and remote sensing classification data, it was completed in a fully digital way. The main data sources are: 1.1:1 million land use data of Xinjiang; 2.30 m resolution TM data of 2005; 3.30 m resolution DEM data; 3.30 m resolution DEM data; 4. Auxiliary data 1:1 million Xinjiang grassland resources data (vector), 1:1 million Xinjiang forest resources data (vector); the above data are from the accumulation of scientific research achievements over the years.
Under the environment of ERDAS, ecognition and ArcGIS, through the combination of expert analysis and remote sensing automatic classification, and with the results of field investigation, the interpretation accuracy is verified. According to the content and area, the method of thematic mapping is adopted. Main links: Based on 1:1 million Xinjiang land use data as the basic base map, as the frame data and control basis of mapping; Based on the TM image data in 1-2 years before and after 2005, the orthophoto map is generated by superposition of DEM data whose spatial grid accuracy is not less than 30 meters. The orthophoto map is interpreted by remote sensing image analysis software ecognition to realize the attribute division and mapping of different land cover types; On the basis of the above three kinds of data, combined with the results of artificial visual interpretation and field investigation, full digital mapping is carried out.
The total precision of the first class, the second class, the forest and the shrub, the other single class, the second class, the climate zone, the change detection, the second class is 95%, 85%, 65%, 85%, 65%, 85%, 72% and 42%, respectively
