Digital ionospheric altimeter is a high frequency pulse Doppler radar controlled by computer in real time. It is an ionospheric detection instrument developed by the University of Massachusetts Lowell. It can simultaneously measure the amplitude, phase, delay, frequency, Doppler shift, arrival angle and polarization angle of the ionospheric echo. The measured results are recorded on the data stream tape in digital form. At present, the file format is dat text format, including the hour value of 15 parameters. This data set is the data of digital ionospheric altimeter from 2001 to 2015 at Zhongshan station, Antarctica, China.

The parameters of ionospheric echo, such as amplitude, phase, time delay, frequency, Doppler shift, arrival angle and polarization angle, are measured. Direct observation with digital ionosphere altimeter
The data shall be preliminarily reviewed and compiled according to the ground meteorological observation specifications of China Meteorological Administration.
